50 Members of Southern Ceramic Group will be exhibiting over 500 original pieces for display and for sale for at a new Winter Exhibition at the City Space Gallery within the Winchester Discovery Centre.  A great opportunity to find that perfect seasonal gift. Mike was born in Germany, and spent some of his early childhood on a farm in Ireland. He initially studied fine art (painting) but turned to ceramics at Cardiff College of Art (1975-78) under Alan Barrett-Danes. His highly distinctive figurative ceramics draw inspiration from such diverse sources as Meissen figurines, expressionist art and the gestural ceramics of Peter Voulkos. Using a variety of ceramic techniques and materials including raku, terracotta and porcelain, his sculptures explore the dangerous nature of male/female…
